I moved to France with my Love on September 12th, 2012 as an American Expat: an expatriate (in abbreviated form, expat) is a person temporarily or permanently residing in a country and culture other than that of the person’s upbringing. The word comes from the Latin terms ex (“out of”) and patria (“country, fatherland”).
We are living in Versailles, just half a mile from the Palace. We moved here with our two dogs, Jack and Jameson. One of these days I will write a handy post about our experience of getting the proper documentation to move the dogs here, but I am still recovering from the stress, so it may be a while.
There are so many things that make me laugh here. I wanted a place that I could share them with my friends, family, or even perfect strangers. I am also hoping that this blog helps me get focused on reaching some of my goals in health, diet, as well as learning the french language. A word of the day, perhaps… hmmmmmm.
